Arden Hills is part of the Mounds View Public Schools #621, one of the largest school districts in Minnesota. There are six elementary schools for grades K-5, three middle schools for grades 6-8 and two high schools for grades 9-12. There is one alternative school and a Learning Center. The school district serves over 10,000 students in cities such as Arden Hills, Mounds View, New Brighton, North Oaks, Roseville and Shoreview. Arden Hills, MN places a great deal of importance on its Parks and Recreation Department. The city has 14 different well maintained parks spread out over 102 acres of the city. There are all kinds of parks ranging from intense biking and walking trails to playgrounds for children and fields for sports. All parks in the area are open a half hour before sunrise until a half hour after sunset, and all alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Pets must be on leashes at all times, no matter what, and owners are required to pick up after them. If you plan to have any type of an event at one of the beautiful parks like the Lake Judy Park located on Tiller Lane, then you must call the Parks and Recreation Department to make reservations. For those interested in helping their environment, Arden Hills has a very organized garbage and recycling program in place. There are four licensed garbage haulers in the city, Ace Solid Waste Inc., at (763) 427-3110 BFI/Allied Waste at (763) 784-2104, Walter's Recycling & Refuse at (763) 780-8464 and Waste Management of the Twin Cities - Blaine at (763) 784-8349. For more information on when your area has a scheduled pick up time, you may call any of the four haulers. Arden Hills's recycling provider is Eureka Recycling. This is a new provider that allows residents to recycle much more items, helping the city closer to its goal of zero waste. Recycling truck run the same schedule in each neighborhood, but may run a few more times a week so be sure to have your items ready for pick up by 7:00a.m. For more information on when you neighborhood recycling truck runs, contact Eureka Recycling at (651) 222-7678.
